Gatlinburg Or Pigeon Forge?
I am trying to plan a family vacation to the Smokey Mountains. Is it better to stay in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. We are planning on staying in a cabin or chalet. I want to be near all the “action” but also, not right on the interstate. What are the pros and cons of staying in Pigeon Forge and what are the pros and cons of staying in Gatlinburg?

I prefer Gatlinburg. It’s closer to the Smoky Mountains National Park and the cabins, to me, are nicer. Don’t get me wrong - there are very nice places in Pigeon Forge too. It really comes down to a personal choice. They are really so close to each other that it doesn’t make a whole lot of difference.
Here is the site that we use for renting a cabin:http://rental.cabinsofthesmokymountains.…
You will have fun no matter where you go!! It is a really fun, family oriented vacation destination and there is a lot happening there. Good luck, stay safe and drive carefully!

Gatlinburg will be cheaper to stay at and they are both so close a 10min drive to each Pigeion forge has more activities for adventure and young people when Gatlinburg is old town and a little slower but cheaper to stay at
