Has Anybody Been On A John Fowler Holiday In Combe Martin, Devon?
Just interested to see who has stayed in a john folwer holiday resort in devon and what you thought about the accomodaton.
We only went to combe martin, because The Sun newspaper was doing some sort of cheap offer. Little did we know that we’d end up staying in a really ugly chalet, with a door coming of its hinges, and really crappy black and white tv stuck on the wall, and hardly any furniture except for a wooden chair and a little coffee table.
Those chalets could really do with a makeover. I went to reception and complained, so we got moved to a luxery caravan, but it was stuk right at the top of a hill covered with big trees, so th back of the caravan was damp, and all we got on the tv was welsh tv because the flippin aerial was poiting towards wales!
It was a nightmare, and there wasnt much to do either.
I am interested to hear about other people’s experiences.

Hi there, Well I’ll not expect to have the 10 points for best answer which I may have stood a chance of getting had I been backing you up, however I have to give John Fowler some back up here.
Combe Martin Beach Holiday Park is clearly advertised as a SMALL RELAXING PARK, which one would assume means peace and quiet. it states that the free Clubhouse has free quizes & LIMITED Entertainment, this tells you there is not much going on, It also offers Bingo, Chef’s Corner Bar Meals, Take Away Food. There are some Party games & Foxy (park mascot) will visit during the week.
The accommodation is budget for 2 levels at this camp and in May would either be £105 to £125 per week. Again clearly stated is “small but very good value” Then the other 7 levels of accommodation is from 165 to 225.
Okay your door should not have been coming off the hinges, and the tv could have been colour, as for Wales TV I am proud of my TV Stations and yes it can be difficult but there are probably bad areas in that part of the UK hence the way the aerial points, I don’t get Channel 4 or Channel 5.
I noticed you never mentioned any of the good points like its wonderful views, its own private Newberry beach, the wonderful adjoining 5 Star Sandaway Beach Holiday Park which is a Family Fun Park and you can use it jointly.
I don’t want to get into any debate here, I just feel that you have brought a cheap holiday in a quiet park and you are not really telling it as it is only how it was for you. …. Gerry
