im British and loooking to work the winter season in canada as a chef/cook in a chalet or work in a bar. does anyone know any good companies

Sort yourself out with a visa first, they give a limited number to British people each year so you’ll need to be applying ASAP for the 07/08 season.
As for companies, try the resort owners first (check out the resort web page), they tend to run all the catering/bar operations on the actual ski hill so it’s a bit of a mononpoly. Other than that you could always turn up on spec and hope to get a job in a local bar in the town, or if you wanted to work in a chalet try applying (again ASAP) to all the british chalet companies (although you are unlikely to get a choice of which country you work in).
