I’m Writing A Book And Need To Know The Name Of A Safe, Trendy Dance Club In The New Orleans Area.?
Age range should be younger (20-30) but not too raunchy. Can anyone help me out here? I researched Mo’s chalet, but from the sounds of it they aren’t for the younger crowd.

There’s a dance club in the Quarter called The Gold Mine. Its trendy in the sense of it attracts a lot of the people in the age range you mentioned and its not raunchy.
There’s lots of bars i’d suggest: Lucy’s, The Bulldog, etc but those aren’t really clubs.
If you’re looking for high class trendy then you might want to use 360…

I don’t know what you may consider Raunchy, but I have been in the following clubs, and wouldn’t consider any of these raunchy:
House of Blues
Razoo(OK, a little raunchy, but with a great ambiance)
Club Vincen’ts(but I think they moved to Baton Rouge since the storm)
Whiskey Blue(Inside of the W hotel)
The Club inside Harrah’s Casino is gorgeous

Not sure why anyone would mention Cafe Brazil if you know it closed. It was never that great anyway always dead..hence why its not open. Club 360 also mentioned is closed as well.

Sacha has the best suggestion, and Cafe Brasil on Frenchman Street meets all of your requirements.
This is from a review:
“The neighborhood known as the Faubourg Marigny is the city’s premiere bohemian hangout, and Cafe Brasil is the brightest jewel in its crown. Fun, sensual, but never pretentious, this club has more to offer than its name indicates, although it does feature what is arguably the city’s best Latin Night. Lined with the work of local artists, this hot and sweaty venue packs them in with live funk, jam-band, modern jazz, klezmer, reggae, rock, world beat and more — no style is too unusual to be embraced. During the day, it caters to the coffeehouse crowd, but at night it becomes one of the city’s major cross-cultural touchstones, as well as a casually sexy place to make the scene. Don’t go if you can’t stand crowds, however — although the club is spacious, the dancers here get so numerous after midnight they can spill right out onto the street. This cafe is also a great place to be seen during one of the city’s many “tourist holidays” like Mardi Gras or Halloween. — Robert Fontenot Jr.”
Note that Mo’s chalet is in Metairie and not in New Orleans (Metairie is a neighborhood in Jefferson Parish, which is a suburb to the west of the city).

Cafe Brasil on Frenchman St. Actually just go to Frenchman St. between Decatur and Royal. It’s a block past Esplanade just outside of the lower French Quarter. That is probably the trendiest part of New Orleans, club-wise.
Though it is no longer in existence, The Shim-Sham Club on St. Louis between Royal and Chartres was my favorite. It was a little edgy, but it had live music, burlesque (The Shim-Shamettes), and live performances (A Tuna Christmas and Hedwig & the Angry Inch).

There used to be a Rock N’ Bowl. I think it was called. It was a bowling alley that would have bands play. It had a bar, too. That was before Katrina. Now?
