I’d like to rent a log cabin/chalet that has a jacuzzi and is close to the bunny slopes

Arrowhead doesn’t have a ski area so it is easy to rule that one out. Big Bear has two or three choices when it comes to skiing. Snow Summit, Snow Valley, and Bear Valley. The total acreage of all three combined do not equal the size of Mammoth. So far this year, there is limited coverage at the Big Bear ski areas. In addition, they tend to be pretty crowded. Mammoth is a bigger area, usually has better coverage (right now is no exception), and has more terrain options for just starting out. If in the Mammoth area, you might consider June Mountain. It is about 20 miles north of Mammoth, is much smaller, and has a good ski school….happy skiing…

Actually The San Bernardino mountains got seriously dumped on last week. So much that they closed down access to Big Bear, and therefore Snow Summit and Bear Valley, to residents only.
Snow Valley is just below the area known as “The Arctic Circle” where the most hazardous road conditions are. Because of this Snow valley was able to stay open. On most days you don’t even need chains to get there. You can see what I mean on this map: http://bit.ly/SBmtnMAP
Snow Valley got nearly 8 feet of new snow from the last weeks storm. It’s also the best deal on the mountain. Adults $27 on weekends and $22 weekdays with the 50% off discount.
You can get the 50% off discount on lift tickets to Snow Valley by using promo code SNOW1 at the http://snow-valley.com site or print out the coupon at this link http://bit.ly/SVSNOW1
