a beach. that was our one and only requirement. we just wanted to be able to sit on the beach all day.
we had room service available but never once used it.
and we had a pool bar which we used quite often

We had to have activities! We are sports-minded people who were looking for a place we could relax but also get dirty, sweaty and worn-out (besides the bedroom of course!). We looked for a venue that had mountain biking (we are both avid mountain bikers), surfing and beaches, lots of sight-seeing, hiking and natural areas. We ended up choosing California for it’s perfect combination of those things. We will be flying into San Diego and making our way toward San Francisco over a period of 9 days. We’ve picked out a ton of things we can see and do and scheudled plenty of time to relax as well. We made sure the hotels we chose had plenty of nice services (room service, ocean/mountain views, large comfy beds, in-room jacuzzi tubs or personal swimming pools, massages on-site, award-winning restaurants, etc). Our honeymoon detsination is combining all of our favorite things and allowing us to spend time together doing them, which is just what we were looking for.
Good luck!

the sex. yup, the making love knowing, this is the first for us as a married couple.
anyway, back to the real question though, i think it’s just spending time with each other all the time, wherever you are. prepare romantic things esp for your new husband/wife. maybe roses on the bed, candles..
also exploring scenic views, getting to know each other more and more, discovering even new things, despite the fact that you’ve known each other so well already.
like i said, the thing that makes it special is being together all the time, showing each other love.. and the start of a wonderful marriage.

Right now our budget is controlling our honeymoon
We are a second wedding and combining of families so babysitting is also an expense.
We live by the beach so we would love to go to the mountains with a nice honeymoon cabin with a view and jacuzzi. That won’t happen so probably close to home and beachside.

for me, the ideal spot would be=
a nice beachfront chalet, on a white-sandbeach,clear waters,a beautiful exotic island,no cel, beautiful sunsets, petite bikinis, light sexy dresses and no shoes, while drinking some sparkling wine, candlelight dinner, room service and dance by night on the beach.
Be apart of the world, only Me and him.
I hope my Soul mate reads it=D

I think that the making the difference part is just the 2 of you knowing that it’s your honeymoon. Honestly, it doesn’t matter if you go to Sandals in Jamaica or to some fishing lodge in canada. As long as the 2 of you have the mindset that it’s a honeymoon and not just a vacation, it’ll be a honeymoon and not just a vacation. (Yes, I’m one of those ones who are waiting a while before taking a honeymoon…we’re going to Sandals, getting married in the summer, and waiting till winter to take the honeymoon.)
As far as must haves, for me it’d be the all-inclusive status. If I don’t want to take my wallet, I don’t have to! (Basically…lol.) Another is the swim-up bars and bar on the beach. If I’m lounging on the beach or in the pool, I don’t want to have to walk all the way back to the main resort when I’m craving a pina colada.

The must have with any honeymoon is your loving relationship. that’s all you need, it doesn’t matter weather it is in country victoria in a farm house, or in a villa in tuscany, or even on a beach in queensland, it is all about spending time with your other half.

Over size bat tubs, they are so nice, you could spend all day in one.
I would plan to go somewhere that has alot to offer (like sometype of tourist town that fits your fancy) but dont make a plan or a schedule to do anything. Just decide “Hmm, lets go to this place, and then stop here for dinner tonight” Do you understand this? I hope so….
in other words, don’t plan any activities more than a day in advance, it will keep everyday fresh and fun, like and adventure!

We had to have:
beach
private and quiet
overwater bungalow
We went to Bora Bora island and it was more than we imagined. But we do NOT spend that much on ordinary vacations, so it was really only something we would do for our honeymoon (or 10-year anniversary…??lol).

My honeymoon was all about relaxing after the wedding and spedning time with my husband with no time frame for anything and we just did what we wanted when we wanted. On holidays we run around crazy trying to fit in as much as we can our honeymoon was all about us.
