Where Can We Stay For 1 Night Near Rouen, France?
On our way to La Rochelle from London and would like an over night stay, a couple of hours drive from Calais. Think Rouen may be a good spot, don’t mind it it’s a chalet on a campsite or a B&B, but don’t want a formula 1. Have 2 young kids, any suggestions….
Looking for a ski-in/out chalet or Mont Tremblant Condo with Hot tubs and Pools? Try the the luxury Panache Mont Tremblant or Tremblant resort condos like the convenient Equinox Mont Tremblant or featuring the Bondurant Mont Tremblant or ski-in/out at the Altitude Mont Tremblant

Rouen is a huge agglomeration and a nightmare to drive through, especially if you are not familiar with the town.
I would suggest something outside the main city. This seems to meet your requirements, is reasonably priced and not far from the motorway.http://www.activehotels.com/hotel/brochu…
Here is an extensive list of hotels in and around Rouen, if the Campanile hotel above is not what you are looking for.http://www.activehotels.com/hotel/en/fra…
There does not seem to be any chalet type accomodation, but if you contact the Rouen tourist office they will have a list of B and Bs.http://www.rouentourisme.com/default.asp…

There are some excellent B & B’s in and around Rouen but it might be difficult to find available rooms during August without prebooking. Get a copy of the AA “Bed and Breakfast Guide to France” for information and, if you decide to try one, book by telephone.
I also wouldn’t dream of using a Formule 1 but we do use the Ibis motels and/or Campanile both of which are similar to Travelodge. (prefer Ibis) There are Ibis hotels (5 at least) in Rouen and 6 Campaniles at various distances from the town centre. You might be able to get all your family in one room.

Would suggest the Hotel Normandy in Vernon. Have stayed there many times and it’s ideal for families. About a two and a quarter hour drive from Calais and only a 5 minute drive from the autoroute.

There are some very good campsites around this area, could you google Le Routier? You know it makes sense.
