Thanks for the comment!Great time (1′56.7) Which 996 model are your driving exactly? Are you on street tires? what was your top speed on the back stretch? Thanks for your comment on the hand positions, I fugured that since there is no very thight hairpin I did not need to shuffle my hands at all…The 430 you are talking about must be a 430 challenge? Is it?Thanks!

I drive an SI, just like you. 2dr though. I hit 195 on the back stretch. No, I’m talking about a regular 430 with the ceramic brakes. Friend of ours used to race for the 360 challenge, so he was used to his, and did a 1:46.xx.

You must have at least 210 to 220 HP at the wheels to get this kind of top speed on the back stretch, my car would only get to 170-172km/h. Anyway your time is VERY impressive for a Civic!!!

Yes, I have 230whp, good guess! Yes, I was really happy when i saw that. People didn’t seem to pleased to see those times from a civic. I usually drive in a club which higher end car (GT3’s, M6, Carrera’s, 4s,…etc) and sometimes they don’t enjoy themselves as much when a big “H” is behind them, hahaha ,I love it.

I really need to know more. I didn’t know it was possible to get this king of power all motor! It must pull like mad. What are exaclty the mods to your engine? Cam shaft, EMS, intake, exhaust… Did you change the brakes? I changed the Si for a 2005 S2000 and I was wondering what kind of power I could get out of it while remaining with an atmospheric setup.

uh yes i am serious, this is not street driving so it helps not keep your hands locked in one position

Wow. This is hard to believe. The last thing to do on the track is to shuffle your hands around the steering. Look at any videos of race cars, do you see any of them shuffling their hands? I don’t know where to start, but for example, your hands are not “locked”, if you reach a very slow part of the track and your 2 foramrs “colide” then you can over hand over hand, but I haven’t been to any tracks that requires that. Maybe in Auto-X, but thats a different story.
