Is There A Fix For Brake Rotors On 2000 Monte Carlo Ss. The Ones On My Wifes Car Goes Bad About Every Six Mont
The rotors start to shimmy about every six months and you can only have them turned once. The front end guy says they get hot and then cool off too quick causing them to warp. Is there a different brand that will last better, or a fix out there?

a fellow mechanic told me that monte carlo’s have problems with the rotors and need replaced every year as the rust really bad for some reason, I would look into a high performance rotor for your car if you want to eliminate your problem, call summit racing and see what they offer.

Are the rotors installed vented disc?which is better than none they dissipate heat much better. Also what is the condition of the caliper, and brake pads, the piston inside the caliper can get stuck and only brake to one side causing uneven wear.I could be a couple of problems aside from just the rotor also does your wife do a lot of stop and go braking.Hope that helps good luck.

what he said, also make sure she is not riding the brakes causing them to heat up and stay hot which will warp them as soon as she hits a pothole or bump in the road

sometimes the lowest cost rotors can be the problem, but I found that if you torque the wheels when reinstalling them on the car that will help alot. I had a 1993 Chevy Lumina that my wife drove most of the time and putting on raybestos brake rotors and torqueing the wheels fixed the problem.

I question the quality of rotors they are installing. I would try Factory (AC Delco) rotors first before you try a performance rotor.
