what accent has edmond got? i’m quite dissapoined really, they could have worked a little harder with the accents.

@ginasdeepinthought — And I agree with you 100%; the book is amazing! I have both the abridged and unabridged audio books, and the unabridged paperback.It’s my favorite!

@ginasdeepinthought - I think the movie was very good, but I can’t imagine why the director changed so much of it.  Even Noitier’s name. I wish I had seen this version before watching the Richard Chamberlain version and the Gerard Depardieu version. - It took me a good 15 to 20 minutes to get in to this. Then, once I got used to it, I really liked it. But the Depardieu version is the best I’ve seen so far.

@memereguzza — Me too, but I LOVE the twist at the end (Albert’s parentage). As fantastic as the book is, that would have been a perfect ending!

This movie was fairly good. But the plot twist is utterly ridiculous and makes Mercedes look absolutely awful.

not really, she had just lost her fiance and the only person that seemed to be there for her was Fernand Mondego, and it was not her fault he was a conniving jerk. and she never gave up on Edmund.
