Why Is It That The Dal Vs Sj & Phil Vs Mont Series Have Them Play Back To Back Games And Other Series Not?
Dallas played SJ yesterday and are playing again today. Flyers and canadiens play May 3 and also May 4 if necessary. While the other four teams dont have any back to back games this series. I know playing back to back can help a team carrying momentum. But is it really fair to be putting on the skates in two nights during playoffs while others dont?

Because the arenas are shared with other sports teams so its to prevent a scheduling conflict.
The Dallas Stars hosted SJ two nights in a row because they thought the Mavericks would need the court tomorrow….but New Orleans had something else in mind when they eliminated the Mavericks.

Why would it matter if it’s playoffs or regular season….1st or 2nd round. If the players can’t handle playing when they have to they should look for different jobs with set schedules.
Arenas have more than just hockey…other sports, concerts, something planned from a year ago before the playoff schedule was made. And sorry to say but in the USA more priority is given to other events over hockey.

Arena availability dictates this.
Dallas shares their arena with an NBA team, plus whatever concerts and “other” events are booked.
Philadelphia also shares a venue, and it depends on who has “first pick” of potential playoff dates.

The Pens-Rangers do, Sunday and Monday if I remember correctly.
The Wings-Avs is the only series that does not.
I just think if they have back to back games they shouldn’t both be at the same location.

As mentioned, most teams share rinks with playoff NBA teams. The Wings-Avs dont have to worry about that because Detroit Pistons don’t even play in the same city and everyone knew the Nuggets would choke so there wouldnt be a game 6 scheduling conflict.
